Woeful Wednesday

Last Nights Recap
Mavericks 86 at Thunder 99: The Thunder start the 2nd half of the season in winning fashion, wining a quality game in Oklahoma City. Durantuala with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and three blocks led the way for OKC. Jeff Green, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden all adding 17 points each to the mix for the Thunder. For the Mavs it was Dirk Nowitzki leading the way with 24 points, nine rebounds, and six assist.

Suns 109 at Grizzlies 95: Grizzlies open up after the All Star break with a tough loss at home. Phoenix who is not very impressive on the road scored almost at will with Jason Richardson with 27 points, six rebounds, two blocks, and two steals leading the Suns. Amare Stoudemire possibly playing one of his last games with the suns added 21 points and 10 rebounds to the cause. Steve Nash also dishing in 16 assist. For Memphis although the double digit loss all starters scored double figures, with Zach Randolph leading the way with 18 points, 15 rebounds, and one steal.

#2 Kentucky 81 at Mississippi State 75: Before the game started Kentucky forward DeMarcus Cousins knew it was going to be a hostile enviorment for the game, after receiving over 400 text messages from rowdy Mississippi State fans. An overtime thriller, watching this game a fan got everything they would expect in a great game. Miss State played a tough game, and gave Kentucky a good run for their money. Patrick Patterson, DeMarcus Cousins, and John Wall all putting in double doubles. Kentucky as a team had 12 blocks and out rebounded the bulldogs but 20. Kentucky Struggled from behind the arc only shooting 4-24. Miss State standout forward Jarvis Varnado fouled out mid 2nd half, that was a big point in the game.

#11 Michigan State 72 at Indiana 58: Indiana looked lost in the game Michigan State. Even on their own home court the Hoosiers did not look like they should have been on the same court. Although only winning by 14, Michigan State was playing Walk-ons who never see the court at one point in the first half. Draymond Green led the way for the Spartans with 14 points, four rebounds, three assist, and one steal. Indiana did shoot an impressive 25-28 from the charity stripe, maybe that is how they kept the game from getting out of hand. Verdell Jones III led the way for the Hoosiers with 20 points, four rebounds, two assist, and one steal. Michigan State takes sole possession of first place in the Big 10.

Texas Tech 70 at #22 Baylor 88: With LaceDarius Dunn with 30 points, five rebounds, two steal, and two blocks, Baylor had no problem taking down David Tairu (16 points, one rebound, one assist) and the Red Raiders at home

Creighton 52 at #24 Northern Iowa: Northern Iowa clinches the MVC with their last win over Creighton at home.

#25 Wake Forest 83 at Virginia Tech 87: Although leading most of the game Wake Forest and Al-Farouq Aminu (25 points, 11 rebounds, two assist, one steal, two block) could not hold on against one of the ACC's top Malcom Delaney (31 points, nine rebounds, three assist, two steals) and Virginia Tech.

Tonight's previews:
6:30 PM EST #4 Purdue (21-3) (9-3 Big 10) at #12 Ohio State (20-6) ( 10-3 Big 10): Robbie Hummel (16.1 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 2.3 apg) and Purdue come into Columbus to face a very good Ohio State team. Ohio State and Evan Turner (19 ppg, 9.4 rpg, 5.8 apg) try to defend their home court, and stay in contention for the Big 10 title. Look for Ohio State to win this Big 10 battle.

7:00 PM EST #8 West Virginia (19-5) (8-4 Big East) at Providence (12-13) (4-9 Big East): Two Big East teams try to end their loosing streaks tonight. WV loosing its previous two battles, and Providence who has dropped their last five games. Da'Sean Butler (17.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 3.3 apg) and WV play a decent at best Providence team. Look for WV to take this game on the road.

9:00 PM EST #17 Texas (20-5) (6-4 Big 12) at Missouri (16-7) (6-4 Big 12): After the blowout of Nebraska in their last game Texas and Damian James (17.8 ppg and 10.8 rpg) come into Mizzou to face Kim English (14.8 ppg and 3.6 rpg) and Tigers. Look for Texas to take down Mizzou on the road.

9:00 PM EST: Suns (32-22) (14-15 away) at Mavericks (32-21) (15-9 home): With Amare Stoudemire (21.2 ppg and 8.6 rpg) possibly playing his last game in a Suns uniform, the Suns go into Dallas to take on Nowitzki (24.6 ppg and 2.5 apg) at home. With the Suns potent offense them playing their second road game in a row look for the Mavs to take this game at home.

10:30 PM EST Atlatnta Hawks (33-18) (12-12 away) at Los Angeles Clippers (21-32) (14-11 home): Joe Johnson ( 21.6 ppg and 4.6 apg) and the Atlanta Hawks come into LA to take on Baron Davis (15.6 ppg, 7.8 apg, 1.8 spg) and the Clippers. Should be a close game, but I am big fan of Joe Johnson. Look for the Hawks to take this game in LA.

7:30 PM EST Bulls (26-26) (10-17 away) at Knicks (19-33) (12-16 home): These two teams meet again same teams different city. This time they play in New York, Expect my team (the bulls) to win its second game in a row in New York tonight.
