First Post

Welcome to the first posting of the Iz-ness. Everyday I will list the top games and news stories of the day and give my input on them. I will also give my input if you were betting on the games and need another persons opinion. I will also talk about the results of the games the following day.

Today's NBA games:
8:00 PM EST Orlando Magic (36-17) at Cleavland Cavaliers (42-11): A battle of the Eastern Conference's finest. Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic come into Cleavland not only riding a two game winning streak, but also having won the last 8 out of 10 games. They will be trying to end the Cavaliers current 12 game wining streak.

10:30 PM EST San Antonio Spurs (29-21) at Denver Nuggets (35-17): The thus far disappointing San Antonio Spurs go into the Mile High city to take on a very high scoring Denver Nuggets team. The Nuggets come into this game winning their last 7 out of 10 games including a good victory over Dallas. The Spurs come into this game loosing the last 6 of 10 games, and dropping their last game in Phoenix.

NCAA Men Top 25:

11:00 PM EST Saint Mary's (21-3) at #11 Gonzaga (19-4): Gonzaga has a tough conference game ahead as the WCC first place Gaels stomp into Spokane. Saint Mary's have won six games since coming off the seven point loss earlier in the year to Gonzaga. Gonzaga the second place team in the WCC is looking for a win to give them sole possession of first place.

7:05 PM EST #15 Butler (21-4) at Youngstown State (8-15): The Horizon league top ranked Butler Bulldogs go on the road to face a weaker conference opponent. Gordon Hayword and the Bulldogs will go into Youngstown winning the last 13 games after dropping to UAB earlier in the season. The Youngstown State Penguins come into this game dropping the previous game to last place UIC.

Lines/Predictions:

Orlando at Cleavland: Orlando is +6 going into Cleavland tonight. Although they have been playing good basketball the Cavs at home are too much to handle for these Magic. Orlando will be playing its second consecutive road game, and to their dismay they have to play it against 23-3 (home record) Cavaliers. The fresh Cavaliers will be at home well rested looking to extend their winning streak to 13 games. Look for the Cavaliers to cover and win.

San Antonio at Denver: San Antonio has had its fair share of problems this year. Whether it is injuries, skill level, or just age they have not been the team many expected. On the road the San Antonio Spurs are 10-11. They are +5.5 against a high scoring 23-4 at home Denver Nuggets. You can expect usual games out of players such as Carmello Anthony (who is now back for his second game after missing eight in a row), Chauncey Billups, and Kenyon Martin. Even with the help of Double Double man Tim Duncan and speedy guard Tony Parker look for the Nuggets to put up points and cover the spread. Also if your in CO make sure you stop by Taco Bell if the Nuggets get their 100 points tonight.

Saint Mary's at #11 Gonzaga: This is going to be a tough game for both teams. The current 8-1 first place Saint Mary's Gaels look to show the rest of the country that this is the year they win the WCC. After loosing in a tough game to Gonzaga earlier in the season, look for Senior Center Omar Samhan and Junior Guard Mickey McConnell to work extra hard in this game. Gonzaga is - 6 for this game on their home court. Although Saint Mary's will provide some trouble for Gonzaga, Senior Guard Matt Bouldin will be on his game along with the other talented members of the Gonzaga basketball team. Look for Saint Mary's to cover the spread, but loose the game to Zaga.

#15 Butler at Youngstown State: Butler will have no problem controlling the tempo of this game. Although the game is away they are going to face a struggling, to say the least, Youngstown State team. In Youngstown previous game they lost to last ranked(and my parents Alma Mater) Illinois-Chicago (UIC). This was disappointing to say the least even for the 2-11 Horizon League Penguins. Look for Butler to cover the 13 points and win the game.
