BIg Monday

Yesterdays headlines:

#3 Syracuse drops games at home to Louisville:

# 8 Georgetown can not stick with Rutgers in New Jersey: Johnathan Mitchell for Rutgers setting career highs with 24 points, seven rebounds, one block, and two steals. Greg Monroe for Georgetown with another impressive game going 18 points, eight rebounds, six assist, and two steals. Georgetown had a chance at the end of the game to even up the game but faltered a last second shot.

Ohio State Easily Handles Illini in Champaign: Illinois has been on an impressive run as of late. With wining games against Michigan State and beating Wisconsin in Madison, the Illini looked to take down the Buckeyes to make it six games in a row. Well the Buckeyes had different plans with Evan Turner's line 16 points, 11 rebounds, eight assist, and one steal. The Buckeyes after the first half out scored the Illini 36-20. Illini star Dimitri McCamey with a decent game with nine points and nine assist.

East All stars pull it off over the Western All stars: Not to take anything away from the Eastern All stars, but I wonder if their two point victory had anything to do with the absence of Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, and Brandon Roy. Although always an entertaing game, I found it even better this year as the West All stars sported the four forward offense and the lone guard. All joking aside Dallas's All star weekend was an overall success (minus the Dunk contest).

Amare Stoudemire: There has been much trade talk this season with the much anticipated off-season this year. The most recent blockbuster deals that are in works is Cleavland has offered the Phoenix Suns a deal involving players Zydrunas Ilgauskas and J.J. Hickson for Stoudemire. The Suns are supposedly waiting to hear from all teams before they pick the best offer. Its reported that a trade for players such as Samuel Dalembert and Andre Iguodala are the type of trade the Suns are willing to pull the trigger on.

Tyrus Thomas: Tyrus Thomas is another name that was mentioned with trades this weekend. The former first round pick from LSU is an explosive shot blocker and dunker that has extreme athleticism. Thomas has not worked for the bulls and are looking at teams like T-Wolves to make a deal with possibly including one of their three first round picks.

Today's Top College games:
9:00 PM EST #1 Kansas(24-1)(10-0 Big 12) at #23 Texas A&M(18-6) (7-3 Big 12): The Jayhawks travel to College Station to play a very talented Aggie team. Guard Donald Sloan (18.3 ppg, 4 rpg, 4apg) and forward Bryan Davis (10 ppg, 7 rpg, 1 apg) try to upset the number one Kansas Jayhawks in front of their home crowd. A&M is tied for second in the Big 12 with Kansas State. Look for Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich to lead to the Jayhawks to a tough Big 12 road win.

7:00 PM EST Connecticut(14-11) (4-8 Big East) at #3 Villanova (22-2) (11-1 Big East): Stanley Robinson (16 ppg, 4.8 rpg, and one asp) and Jerome Dyson (18.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 4.8 apg) and the struggling Huskies play at a tough Villanova. Villanova has been looked at as one of the elite teams in the country, and to continue to play at that level they need to continue doing business and take out Uconn. It has been no surprise how difficult of year it has been for the Huskies on the court and off, Look for Villanova to win at home.
