Wishful Wednesday

Last Night's Recap:
#4 Syracuse 99 at Providence 85: It was career game for Rick Jackson (28 points, nine rebounds, three assist, three steals, and two blocks) as the he helped the Orangeman take this Big East conference game on the road. Andy Rautin's also had a great game adding an addition 28 points in last nights game. Jamine Peterson was on spot again for Providence finishing with 23 points and six rebounds.

#13 Georgetown 70 at Louisville 60: Georgetown won an impressive road game yesterday at Louisville. Going on the road to face another super sophomore in Samardo Samuels (11 points) and guard Edgar Sosa (24 points and eight assist), Greg Monroe and his Hoyas had their hands full. After impressive games by Austin Freeman (29 points and four assist) and Greg Monroe (16 points and five assist) the Hoyas bounce back, and in a big way. Good win for the men at Georgetown.

#6 Kansas State 83 at Texas Tech 64: Jacob Pullen (28 points and five rebounds) leads the way for the Wildcats as they headed into Lubbock to take on the Red Raiders. John Roberson led the way for the Red Raiders with 15 points and three assist. Kansas State did a nice job handling business on the road. Good win.

#19 Tennessee 62 at Florida 75: Chandler Parsons led the floor for Florida with 19 points and eight rebounds as the Gators upset the Volunteers in Gainsville last night. Scotty Hopson led the way with 20 points and four rebounds for Tennessee but that was not enough to keep the Gators from walking away victors. Florida now is in sole possession of 4th in the SEC, making it self a tournament resume.

#10 New Mexico 72 at Colorado State 66.

BIG UPSET OF THE NIGHT: #25 Northern Iowa 54 at Evansville 55.

Phoenix 104 at Oklahoma City 102: A great game last night in OKC as the Suns came into town without Steve Nash and were still able to come out with the win. With help from J-Rich's winner, Amare Stoudemire was the main contributor with 30 points and nine rebounds. Kevin Durant (NBA's leading scorer) ended with 36 points eight rebounds as they take the tough loss at home. The Suns pick up another quality win on the road.

LA Lakers 99 at Memphis 98: Kobe back in the lineup and did not miss a beat. Kobe (32 points, seven rebounds, six assist) hit a three to give the Lakers the lead with 4.3 seconds left, and you have to wonder how he does it. It seems inevitable these days that Kobe with the ball at the end of a close game= Lakers victory. I like those odds and this game is another fine example of Kobe's ridiculousness.

Tonights Games:
LA Lakers (43-14) at Mavericks (36-21): Kobe (28 ppg) and the Lakers are at it again in another city now. They head to Dallas to take on Dirk Nowitzki (24.7 ppg and 7 rpg) and the Dallas Mavs. The Lakers are coming off a tough win on the road last night and don't expect them to pull it off again. Although it will be a close game look for the Mavs to win this game.

#9 Ohio State (21-4) (11-7 Big 10) at Penn State (10-16) (2-12 Big 10): Evan Turner (19.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg) and the Buckeye's head into Penn State to take on a struggling Nintny Lion team. Evan Turner is the real deal; you name it he can do it. Look for Turner to lead Ohio State to conference win on the road.

#22 Texas A&M (19-7) (8-4 Big 12) at Baylor (20-6) (7-5 Big 12): LaceDarius Dunn (18.9 ppg and 4.6 rpg) and the Baylor Bears welcome tough Big 12 opponent; Donald Sloan (17.9 ppg) and Texas A&M. Both teams are headed in the right place as they are both solidifying their tournament roster. Look for Baylor to take this game at home.

Oklahoma State (19-7) (9-5 Big 12) at # 21 Texas (21-6) (7-5 Big 12): Look for Texas to take this game at home.

Top 25 winners tonight: Purdue, Villanova, ND, BYU, and Temple very close over Dayton.

TMAC WATCH- The Knick's played yet again last night; TMAC's line was six points and eight assist
