That time of year

With the excitement of Conference tournaments and The NCAA Tournament this month, it is hard for myself not to jump on the bandwagon. That is why for the next few weeks I will be commenting on mostly all tourney games.

Big East Tournament Day 1:
12:00 PM EST Depaul (8-22) (1-17 Big East) vs South Florida (19-11) (9-9 Big East): Man I would love to be able to pick Depaul and feel confident in my decision, but unfortunately I cant. Even though Depaul with players like Will Walker (16 ppg 2.9 apg) and possible future NBA prospect Mac Koshwal (16.6 ppg and 10.1 rpg) they have not been able to get it done this year. Although i think they will play SF tough today look for big time player Dominique Jones (21.3 ppg and 6.1 rpg) and the USF Bulls to take this first round Big East game.

2:00 PM EST St. Johns (16-14) (6-12 Big East) vs Connecticut (17-14) (7-11 Big East): Connecticut has the talented players and the talented coach to be a tournament team, but they have not played that way at all this year and that's why I feel they shouldn't be in the field of 65 come selection Sunday. Personally i feel this is a must win game for UConn seeing that their tournament life is dwindling. Look for leaders Kemba Walker (14.9 ppg and 5.2 apg) and Jerome Dyson (17.7 ppg and 4.4 rpg) to extend UConn's season another day.

7:00 PM EST Providence (12-18) (4-14 Big East) vs Seton Hall (18-11) (9-9): Although I am a big fan of Jamine Peterson (19 ppg and 10 rpg), I dont think he has what it takes to take Providence past Seton Hall and guard Jeremy Hazell ( 21.2 ppg and 3.4 rpg). Look for Seton Hall to take this first round game.

9:00 PM EST Rutgers (15-16) (5-13 Big East) vs Cincinnati (16-14) (7-11 Big East): Mike Rosario (16.4 ppg) and Rutgers take on Lance Stephenson (12 ppg 5.3 rpg) and Cincy. Tonight's game at MSG will be the end of the first day of the Big East Tournament. Look for Cincy to take Rutgers in this first round game.
